Mr. Bidyut Kumar Halder, Mr. Indranil Halder ...for the petitioner Ms. Nandini Mitra ...for the CESC Limited Mr. Sukumar Bhattacharyya, ...for the respondent no. 4 Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that, on the objection raised by a tenant of the petitioner, the new electric connection, sought by the petitioner at 23/1, Narayan Chandra Sen Lane, Howrah-711 106 has not been given by the CESC officials.

Learned counsel for the CESC Limited corroborates such submission insofar as resistance being created, at the juncture when CESC officials went to hold an inspection in that regard, is concerned. Learned counsel appearing for the private respondent no. 4 contends that the said respondent is a resident of 23/1, Mirpara Lane, Howrah-711 106, P.S.-

Golabari, which has no connection with 23/1, Narayan Chandra Sen Lane. As such, it is contended by the private respondent hat the petitioner's application is defective in the absence of any document to show that the name of 23/1, Mirpara Lane, at which address the connection was applied for, has been changed to 23/1, Narayan Chandra Sen Lane.

Since the specific contention of the petitioner is that the current address of the premises, at which electric connection has been sought, is 23/1, Narayan Chandra Sen Lane, previously 23/1, Mirpara Lane, to obviate unnecessary exchange of affidavits and keeping the writ petition pending, which would enure to the benefit of none of the parties, W.P.A. No. 17925 of 2021 is disposed of by giving the petitioner liberty to apply afresh for a new electric connection at 23/1, Narayan Chandra Sen Lane, Howrah-711 106, which is the admitted current address of the petitioner, as per the writ petition itself.

If such an application is made, the CESC Limited shall consider the same in accordance with law and, upon holding an inspection, subject to compliance of all requisite formalities by the petitioner, give new electric connection to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
