Dey ...for the respondent nos.5 and 6 Mr. Mainak Ganguly, Ms. Pranati Das ...for the respondent nos.7 to 12 When the matter is moved, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is restricting his prayer to relief (a) as appearing at page-13 of the writ petition.

Learned senior counsel appearing for the respondent nos. 5 and 6 submits that several

allegations have made in the writ petition against the said respondents, which are unwarranted.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner makes it very clear that the petitioner, at present, is not pressing any of the allegations made in the writ petition but restricts his prayer to relief (a) only. Learned counsel for the respondent no. 4, in his usual fairness, submits that the Election process, which is the subject-matter of the dispute, ought to be completed expeditiously.

There is substance in the contention of the petitioner that, in contravention of the West Bengal Co-operative Election Commissions Regulations, 2012, the election to the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Societies, namely, Sridharpur Co-operative Bank Limited has not been completed till date in terms of the final voters' list published in the year 2017.

In such view of the matter, WPA No.17937 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.4 to take expeditious steps for completion of the election process with regard to the Board of Directors of the respondent no.5-Co-operative Society, upon compliance of all prior formalities.

The entire process, it is expected, shall be completed within six months from date.

It is made clear that the petitioner is not pressing any of the allegations made in the writ

petition, without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the parties.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
