Petitioner is aggrieved by that fact that in spite of informing the Superintendent of Police, Bankura by way of Email the same has not been acted upon. Earlier also representations were made to the police authorities as is reflected from the enclosures to the writ petition.

State has submitted a report. Report primarily deals with the fact that the property which is the subject matter of dispute belongs to the government. So far as the issues relating to land is concerned and/or any other property the same is the exclusive domain of the authorities.

If there is any encroachment on any property the same would be also decided by the officers of the land department.

Police authorities would only see whether there has been any violation of the law and order.

Accordingly, Superintendent of Police, Bankura is directed that within a period of 15 days from the date of communication of this order the Superintendent of police will take a decision and inform the petitioner regarding the steps taken. It is reiterated that the police authorities would only check if there has been any violation of the law and order and will not interfere with the finding of the Government Officers or the Civil Administration in respect of the land in question.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 17747 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
