Item No.29 Court No.21 Saswata W.P.A. 17388 of 2022 Semima Khatun

Versus

The State of West Bengal & Ors.

Mr. Mukteswar Maity Ms. Manika Sarkar ...For the petitioner Let the affidavit of service filed in the Court today be kept with the records.

Despite service, the respondents are not represented.

The petitioner claims that she has passed B.Sc. in nursing course from Ranchi University. She made an application before the West Bengal Nursing Council for her registration under the Nursing Council, West Bengal.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that till date, she has not been registered under the West Bengal Nursing Council, despite her application.

Mr. Maity refers to a letter dated April 2, 2019, issued by the Indian Nursing Council requesting the Registrar, West Bengal Nursing Council to consider the reciprocal registrations of the nurses who have passed B.Sc. Nursing from different universities.

I do not see any justification to keep this writ petition pending.

This writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Registrar, West Bengal Nursing Council, respondent no. 3 to consider the case of the petitioner for registering her under the West Bengal Nursing Council within a period of one month from date of communication of this order.

The decision shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week thereafter.

W.P.A. 17388 of 2022 is accordingly disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for be given to the parties upon compliance with requisite formalities.
