Mina ...for the State ssi Ct 14 Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner got acquainted with the private respondent a few years ago. Initially the private respondent was unemployed and requested the petitioner to arrange for a job. The petitioner engaged him in running errands. After that there was no connection between the two. Much later, the Officers of the Baguiati Police Station called the petitioner and told him that he had borrowed of Rs. 2 lakhs and did not pay any installment to the private respondent. Therefore, he might have to do away with his retiral benefits. On the insistence of the police officers and upon such undue pressure, the petitioner had to pay sums of money to the petitioner. A total of Rs. 24,000/- was paid to the private respondent in this fashion.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies

on the report filed earlier and submits as follows. The private respondent had alleged that the petitioner had taken money for giving him a job in a government department. Some talks of settlement were going at the police station. However, the police authorities have never asked the petitioner to part with any sum of money in favour of the private respondent. These are exceptional allegations made by the petitioner claiming that Officers at a particular police station had been indulging in brokering a deal with a proposed complainant.

No further order need be passed in this regard as no coercive measure has purportedly been taken by the police authorities.

However, considering the significance of the allegation, let this matter be look into by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Airport Division.

Let a copy of the order be communicated by the learned counsel for the State to the concerned authority. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
