Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education (P.G.) for Women, Chandannagar. He lodged the complaint against the misbehavior by the Principal before the DPI. There was also a complaint made by the Principal against the petitioner. The concerned DPI delegated the matter to the Principal to decide. But the DPI did not take any effective steps.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows.

There was a dispute between the Principal and the Assistant Professor over official issues involving the College. Because of certain heated exchanges between parties, the matter went to the police. But even according to the police, the allegation pertains to internal conflicts between the Assistant Professor and the Principal. No one used any unparliamentary words or activity on which the police can act. Therefore, the police did not act. The matter is to be settled by the individual parties.

According to the private respondents, the matter has become infructuous.

It appears that there was a dispute between the petitioner and the Principal of the College. If any action of an adversary warrants legal action, then either party shall be at liberty to take steps in accordance with law.

No further order need be passed in this regard. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
