Chandi Charan De, learned Additional Government Pleader appears for the State respondents. The petitioner claims, inter alia, the following relief in this writ petition :

"(a) Writ of mandamus be issued directing the respondents to rectify the land records in respect of L.R.dag No.2284, Khatian No.58 under J.L. No.236 of Mouza - Amgechhia, District - Purba Medinipur in terms of annexureP5 by deleting the name of recorded Bargadar - 'Bhutnath Barman' from land records and deliver the rectified record of rights to the petitioner;"

In view of the provisions laid down under SubSection (r) to Section 2 to The West Bengal Land

Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997, this proceeding is not maintainable before this Court in its Writ jurisdiction.

The petitioner shall be at liberty to apply before the jurisdictional Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal within November 18, 2024.

In the event such an application is filed by the petitioner, the learned tribunal shall proceed with the same and shall dispose it of preferably within a period of eight months from the date of its registration before the tribunal.

It is made clear that, this Court has not gone into the merits of this writ petition and the petitioner shall be at liberty to take all points whatever he wishes to take by relying upon whatever records and documents he wishes to rely upon before the learned tribunal.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition, WPA 17826 of 2024 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
