Public Prosecutor Mr. Dipankar Paramanick ... ... for the State It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that they are in custody for a protracted period of time. They apprehend that trial would be further prolonged as police has filed supplementary charge sheet against others. Accordingly, they pray for bail. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor assures the court that trial of the petitioners would proceed in accordance with law. Coaccused who have been named in the supplementary charge sheet would be tried separately.

In view of the aforesaid assurance and bearing in mind the matured stage of the proceeding, we do not wish to enlarge the petitioners on bail at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

Trial court is directed to proceed with the trial against the petitioners and others (apart from those who have been named in the supplementary charge sheet) with utmost expedition and conclude the

same at an early date preferably within six months from the next date fixed for arguments without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

Parties shall communicate a copy of this order to the trial court for due compliance.
