The petitioners are aggrieved by the show cause notice dated 23rd September, 2021 issued by the Jute Commissioner under the provisions of Jute & Jute (Textiles) Control Order, 2016.

The petitioners have replied to the show cause notice on 29th September, 2021.

According to the petitioners, the grounds mentioned in the show cause notice are absolutely illegal. The same has been effectively answered in their reply to the show cause notice.

It appears from the submissions made on behalf of both the parties that after the petitioners submitted

the reply to the show cause notice no further step has been taken by the Jute Commissioner till date. It is settled law that writ petition challenging a show cause notice ought not to be entertained as the same does not give rise to any cause of action. It also does not amount to any adverse order which affects the right of a party.

In that view of the matter, there is no reason to interfere in this writ petition at this stage. The Jute Commissioner may take appropriate steps strictly in accordance with law.

W.P.A. 17985 of 2021 stands disposed of.
