Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner has prayed for bail on the grounds that the petitioner is in custody for 2 years 11 months.

I have considered the nature of the offence and the stage of the case. It has been submitted on behalf of the State that only the evidence of two of the investigating officers is left. Having considered the same, I direct the Superintendent of Police, Murshidabad Police District to engage a Nodal Officer in the rank of Additional S.P. to ensure that the two witnesses who are left are compelled to appear before the court as and when the dates/schedule are fixed by the learned Trial Court.

The learned Trial Court would within a period of three months from the next date so fixed, complete whole of the prosecution evidence.

At this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record.

The application for bail, being CRM (M) 1193 of 2025, is, thus, disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
