Petitioner is a senior citizen who is being harassed at the behest of his younger son and his wife. To that effect, information was furnished with Bishnupur Police Station. However, the same did not yield any result. Petitioner claims that the genesis of the dispute is relating to the property for which the petitioner has been assaulted and abused by the private respondents.

State has submitted a report. Report reflects that pursuant to the information received, police authorities have drawn up proceedings under Section 126 of the BNSS. Police report further reflects that there has been a long standing family dispute for which series of cases under Section 126 of the BNSS have been drawn up.

Be that as it may, so far as the family dispute is concerned, the police authorities will not interfere but obviously as a senior citizen is subject to harassment, police authorities would keep a strict vigil. It is further directed that in case petitioner approaches the concerned SDO under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007 and any direction is passed by the SDO or the appropriate authorities under the said Act upon the police authorities, police authorities would respect, obey and implement such order.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 16931 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
