Learned advocate appearing for the Municipality submits that the petitioner requires to apply in a prescribed form and comply with certain formalities for obtaining such certificate. The petitioner has not complied with such formalities.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner, on the other hand, has drawn attention of this Court to page 21 of the writ petition. He submits that the petitioner has submitted the application in the required form along with all relevant documents. He also submits that the cremation certificate of

the deceased was lost and for that reason, a general diary has been lodged before the officer-in-charge, Dakshineswar Police Station.

Having regard to the aforesaid, this writ petition is disposed of giving a direction upon the Kamarhati Municipality to issue the death certificate in favour of the petitioner with one month from date.

Accordingly, WPA 17984 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
