The petitioners contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023.

They allege illegalities at the time of conducting the polls and counting of votes.

The petitioners seek re-election.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents opposes the submissions and allegations made on behalf of the petitioners.

From the documents annexed to the writ petition it appears that the petitioners did not file any complaint before any authority highlighting their grievances.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioners in the instant writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. It will be open for the petitioners to approach the appropriate forum by way of an election petition, if permissible in law, for redressal of their grievances, if so advised.

The Panchayat Returning Officer is directed to properly preserve the CCTV/Video footages and the ballot papers and produce the same as and when directed.
