The present application pertains to Complaint Case No. 429 of 2021, which is pending before the Judicial Magistrate, 7th Court, Paschim Bardhaman at Asansol. The learned counsel for the petitioner has sought an urgent directive for its expeditious disposal.

This Court's review of the records, including the order dated April 2, 2025, reveals that the case was adjourned until August 13, 2025. The purpose of this adjournment was to hear a report submitted by a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) from Asansol North Police Station. It has been submitted that the hearing on this report has been pending for a considerable duration, causing a significant delay.

This Court finds the petitioner's request for expeditious disposal to be reasonable. While the primary investigation is not yet complete-and thus, no order for an expedited trial can be issuedthe delay in hearing the PSI's report is a matter within the purview of the trial court's administrative function. Justice delayed is, after all, justice denied.

Therefore, the Judicial Magistrate, 7th Court, Asansol, is hereby directed to conclude the hearing on the said report as expeditiously as possible. The magistrate is further directed to refrain from granting any unnecessary adjournments that would prolong the resolution of this matter.

This criminal revisional application, CRR 3260 of 2025, is accordingly disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order shall be made available to the parties upon compliance with all necessary formalities.
