The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023.

The petitioner alleges rigging, booth capturing, violence and several other illegalities on the day of the poll.

It has been submitted that the ground reality is so poor that the petitioner was not even permitted to lodge a complaint before the Panchayat Returning Officer till date.

It appears that complaint could not be lodged highlighting such illegalities.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioners in the instant writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. It will be open for the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum by way of an election petition, if permissible in law, for redressal of his grievances, if so advised.

The Panchayat Returning Officer is directed to properly preserve the CCTV/Video footages and the ballot papers and produce the same as and when directed.
