And In Re : Rajkumar Ghosh alias Fouji .... petitioner Ms. Shabana Hasin ....for the petitiones Mr. Neguive Ahamed, learned APP Mr. Sandip Chakraborty Ms. Trina Mitra ...... for the State Mr. Chakraborty, learned Counsel appears on behalf of the Public Prosecutor-in-Charge. He submits explanation which is placed on record.

Having perused the contents we accept the explanation. We have also gone through the materials on record. Trial has progressed to some extent. Eight witnesses have been examined. Delay in the matter was due to vacancy in the trial court and other systemic reasons. Offences, if proved, would attract mandatory life imprisonment.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
