Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 8 months and the trial has not been concluded. As such, the petitioner is unnecessarily languishing in jail.

Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that more than 110 kgs. of ganja was recovered and out of 11 witnesses proposed to be examined by the prosecution, seven witnesses have already been examined.

In view of the stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, the learned Trial Court is directed to conclude the prosecution witnesses within a period of six months from the next date fixed before the learned Trial Court.

The application for bail, being CRM (NDPS) 942 of 2025, is, thus, disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
