Learned Advocate appearing for the State submits that immediately on receipt of the first information report, the sum of Rs.22,15,440/- was refunded by the petitioner to the Government.

Investigations are still ongoing in order to unearth the amount of money involved.

Serious allegations of defalcation of public funds are involved. The petitioner stands implicated in the incident. We also take note of the official position held by the petitioner. In such circumstances, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. CRM (A) 3751 of 2022 is dismissed.
