The present revisional application has been preferred seeking expeditious disposal of Special Case No. 52 of 2024, arising out of Tollygunge Women Police Station Case No. 01 of 2024 dated 08.02.2024, under Sections 376(2)(f)/ 509/506/406 of the Indian Penal Code, and under Sections 6 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Mr. Mitra, learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner, submits that, on the basis of a complaint lodged by her, the present case was initiated in 2024 and the charge sheet has already been submitted. The accused persons are presently on bail and the date for their appearance has already been fixed. The de facto complainant has also filed an application for cancellation of the bail granted to the accused persons, which is still pending. It is further submitted that the de facto complainant is suffering from a terminal illness, namely carcinoma, which is at an advanced stage, and it is her last wish that justice be served to the victim before her time runs out.

In response to my query, Mr. Mitra informed that the next date has been fixed for hearing the application for cancellation of bail, as well as for other purposes, on 21st November, 2025. 4.

Mr. Bikram Mitra, learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the accused persons/opposite parties, submits that if the learned Court below takes steps for expeditious disposal of the case, the accused persons shall cooperate with the learned Court below. 5.

Having heard the learned Advocates appearing for the respective parties and upon perusal of the materials on record, and taking note of the fact that the de-facto complainant is suffering from a terminal disease, the present revisional application is disposed of with a direction to the learned Court below to make the utmost endeavor to dispose of the application for cancellation of bail on the next date, i.e., 21st November, 2025, and shall thereafter fix at least one date every two months for the hearing of this case and to make an sincere efforts to conclude the trial and dispose of the case without granting unnecessary adjournments to any of the parties. 6.

With this observation and order, the revisional application is disposed of.
