The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023.

Allegation is that there was booth capturing and the Civic Police Volunteers were deployed on the date of the poll and CC Cameras were not functioning properly. The petitioners submit that 89 number of ballot papers were cancelled without assigning any reason. Complaint was lodged before the authorities but the same has not been considered.

On a perusal of the averments made in the writ petition and the documents annexed thereto it appears that complaint was lodged on July 15, 2023. The same is long after the declaration of the results. Such delayed filing of complaint does not call for any order directing consideration.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioners in the instant writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Dismissal of the writ petition will, however, not stand in the way of the petitioners from filing election petition in accordance with law, if so advised.
