Mr. Swapan Kumar Nandi Mr. Debashish Basak Mr. Mayukh Mukherjee ... for the alleged contemnors Mr. Mazumder, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India appearing for the alleged contemnors, has produced a letter dated 24th February, 2026 written by Ms. Moumita Bandopadhyay and submitted before the Divisional Railway Manager (P), seeking permission to appear in the CGA Grade "C" examination.

He submits that the department received the said letter only on 27th February, 2026, although, in terms of the direction passed by this Court on 14th January, 2026, petitioner no. 2 was required to submit such application within a week from that date. He further submits that the said letter is under process and prays that the petitioners be permitted to appear in the examination scheduled to be held in April, 2026. Ms. Roy, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners prays for a short accommodation to avail necessary instruction.

In view of the above, the matter stands adjourned.

List the matter for further consideration on 23rd March, 2026 under the same heading.
