This is an application for a direction upon the learned Special Judge, NDPS Act-cum-Additional Sessions Judge, 5th Court at Berhampore for expeditious disposal of NDPS Case No. 259/2020 arising out of Raghunathganj Police Station Case No. 575/2020 dated 12th November, 2020 under Sections 21(C)/29 of the NDPS Act. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that the petitioners were arrested on the allegation of illegal possession of narcotic substance on 12th November, 2020. The Investigating Officer submitted charge-sheet on 20th May, 2021 and supplementary charge-sheet was filed on 3rd January, 2022. Though the accused is in

custody since 12th November, 2020 till this date even charge has not been framed.

The learned Trial Judge is directed to take up the case for consideration of charge within three weeks from the date of communication of this order. Thereafter he shall take all endeavour to examine the charge-sheeted witnesses within six months from the date of consideration of charge.

The instant revision is accordingly disposed of. The petitioners are at liberty to act on the server copy of this order.
