Learned counsel appearing for the State submits that the petitioner's specific bank account in the Punjab National Bank, Khatra Branch, Bankura, was attached by the Inspector-in-Charge, Khatra Police Station by reason of the fact that the petitioner was absconding and that the petitioner has two criminal cases against him. Counsel submits since the petitioner has now returned to his residence, the police authorities will remove the restriction on the bank account of the petitioner but the petitioner has to cooperate with the on-going criminal proceedings.

After hearing learned counsel and considering that the petitioner has a child with special needs,

W.P.A.17608 of 2022 is allowed and disposed of by directing the respondent no.7 being the Sub-Inspector, Khatra Police Station, Bankura, to release the bank account in favour of the petitioner and remove all restrictions thereto within 48 hours from today. The petitioner shall ensure that the petitioner shall be available and present for the on-going criminal proceedings, which have been filed against him. (Moushumi Bhattacharya, J.)
