The writ petitioner is aggrieved by alleged inaction on the part of the Sonarpur Police Station in respect of his complaint of theft against the private respondent.

The Officer-in-Charge, Sonarpur Police Station has submitted a report dated 16.03.2022, which is taken on record. It appears from the said report that there is a rivalry between the petitioner and one Pintu Ghosh. The rivalry has turned ugly and has resulted in a scuffle.

The petitioner's complaint of theft has been registered as FIR being Sonarpur Police Station Case No. of dated 19.11.2021 under Sections 341/323/325/379/506 of IPC. In respect of another complaint by one Pinki Ghosh against the petitioner on grounds of assault on the said Pintu Ghosh, FIR No. dated 03.12.2021 under Sections 342/323/325/379/506 of the IPC has been registered.

It is ordered that Sonarpur Police Station shall complete the investigations into the two FIRs, and submit a final report before the Jurisdictional Magistrate within one month from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The Officer-in-Charge, Sonarpur Police Station shall maintain strict vigil over the area and ensure that there is no breach of peace.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
