The petitioners contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023.

They allege malpractice on the day of counting. It has been submitted that objection was raised on 16th July, 2023.

As it appears that the objection was raised long after the declaration of the election result, accordingly,

reliefs sought for by the petitioners in the instant writ petition cannot be allowed.

The writ petition stands dismissed.

Dismissal of the writ petition will, however, not stand in the way of the petitioners to approach the appropriate forum by way of an election petition in accordance with law for redressal of their grievances, if so advised.

The Panchayat Returning Officer is directed to properly preserve the CCTV/Video footages and the ballot papers and to produce the same as and when called for.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
