The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023.

He highlights several irregularities in connection with the election. Though a copy of the complaint dated 11th July, 2023 is annexed to the writ petition, but there is no proof of service of the said complaint upon the addressee/respondent authority.

In view of the above, the reliefs sought for by the petitioner in the instant writ petition cannot be allowed.

The writ petition stands dismissed.

Dismissal of the writ petition will, however, not stand in the way of the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum by way of an election petition in accordance with law for redressal of his grievance, if so advised.

The Panchayat Returning Officer is directed to properly preserve the CCTV/Video footages and the ballot papers and to produce the same as and when called for.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
