Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that although there was a lapse on the part of the petitioner in paying the service charges and security deposit for taking new electric connection to the petitioner's premises, the petitioner is ready, at present, to put in all the requisite amounts required for such connection to be given. Learned counsel for the CESC submits that since the application was made long back, a fresh inspection is necessary and the bill is required to be revalidated. Learned counsel for the petitioner, in his usual fairness, concedes to such proposition.

Accordingly, WPA 18283 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the respondents to hold an inspection in respect of the site where the electric connection is to be given and to revalidate the electric bill thereafter.

It is further clarified that, upon such revalidation, the respondents shall revive the offer letter accordingly.

It is expected that such exercise will be completed within a week from date and the offer letter communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The petitioner shall comply with all requisite formalities at the earliest thereafter, upon which the respondents shall give new electric connection to the petitioner within a reasonable period.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
