Heard the learned Advocates appearing for the parties. Petitioner is in custody for about 248 days. It is submitted that there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner had quarreled with his wife i.e. the victim in the morning. Thereafter the victim left with the petitioner. Subsequently, her dead body was recovered. Post mortem report shows victim suffered homicidal death. Her ornaments were also recovered on the leading statement of the petitioner.

Under such circumstances and in view of the gravity of offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
