The writ petition is taken up for consideration in presence of the learned advocate representing the petitioners.
However, no one is representing the respondents today.
The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that initially the demand which was laid under SEBI (Interest Liability Regularisation Scheme), 2004 was challenged. However, during pendency of this writ petition the demand has been reassessed and according to the petitioners Rs.17,29,711/- was found to be payable.
It has been submitted today that the said amount has been paid by the petitioners by issuance of letter dated 9th November, 2004 on issuing demand draft in favour of the respondent SEBI to the tune of Rs.17,29,711/-.
In view of the aforesaid payment made by
the petitioners it appears that the issue involved in this writ petition stands resolved. Therefore no further order need be passed on this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
However, there shall be no order as to costs.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the learned Advocates for the parties on the usual undertakings.
