The present revisional application has been preferred seeking an order for expeditious disposal of Miscellaneous Criminal Case No. 262 of 2022, initiated under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 by the petitioner and also for expeditious disposal of the petitioner's application for ad-interim maintenance filed in connection therewith.

Mr. Basu, learned Advocate representing the petitioner, submits that following a matrimonial discord, the petitioner was driven out of her in-laws' house and, having no independent income to maintain herself, was compelled to file an application under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bankura, on 30th November, 2022. The petitioner also filed an application for an ad-interim order of maintenance. However, the case was ultimately transferred to the Family Court on 11th December, 2023, and since then, her application for ad-interim maintenance has not been disposed of. He submits that the petitioner is facing acute financial hardship and, therefore, her application for ad-interim maintenance and the main proceeding should be disposed of expeditiously.

Having heard the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner and upon perusal of the materials on record, I am of the view that there is no purpose in keeping this revisional application pending. 4.

Taking note of the facts and circumstances of this case, the revisional application is disposed of by directing the Family Court, Bankura to ensure that the application for ad-interim maintenance filed by the petitioner is disposed of on the next date, i.e., 15th November, 2025. The Family Court shall also make a sincere endeavour to conclude the main proceeding, Maintenance Criminal Case No. 262 of 2022, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight months from the date of communication of this order. 5.

With this observation and order, the revisional application is disposed of.
