Ms. Bratati Dutta ..for the petitioner Mr. Sujit Sankar Koley b ..for WBSEDCL Mr. Chandi Charan De, AGP Ms. Reshma Chatterjee ..for the State It is the grievance of the petitioner that, despite having made an application before the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) for an electricity connection to his premises located at L.R. Dag Nos. 3060/3061, Village-Namaachuri, P.S. Salboni, District-Bankura, no electricity connection has been provided to him till date.

The petitioner asserts ownership over the said property by virtue of a gift deed executed in his favour by his brother.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of WBSEDCL submits that the electricity connection could not be effected due to objections raised by respondent nos. 6 and 7. It is further submitted that the said respondents

had initially issued a "no objection" with regard to the proposed electricity supply.

Respondent nos. 6 and 7 are not represented.

Let the affidavit of service filed by the petitioner be taken on record.

In view of the above facts and circumstances, I am of the opinion that the petitioner is entitled to an electricity connection at the premises in question. Accordingly, the writ petition is allowed with a direction upon WBSEDCL to effect the electricity connection in favour of the petitioner within a period of three weeks from the date of this order, subject to compliance with all requisite formalities and regulations. The officials of WBSEDCL shall be at liberty to seek police assistance from the local police station for the purpose of implementing this order, if necessary. The cost of such police assistance shall be borne by the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 17210 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
