Heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties. It appears that contraband substance above commercial quantity was recovered from the possession of the petitioner and as such, the rigours of Section 37 of the NDPS are attracted. In view thereof, the petitioner's prayer for bail is refused.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner, however, prays for issuance of necessary direction towards expeditious disposal of the trial since the petitioner has suffered incarceration for 442 days. We take notice of such issue and request the learned court below to expeditiously conduct the trial and, if necessary, upon resorting to the steps available under Section 309 of the Code, so that logical conclusion of the case may be reached at the earliest preferably within a period of six months from the date of communication of this order, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. Accordingly, the application for bail being CRM No.7549 of 2021 is disposed of.
