The writ petitioner claims that the private respondents, in addition to interfering with his possession of property, have also assaulted him. The petitioner lodged a complaint with the Diamond Harbour Police Station but in vain.

It is submitted that even after the writ petition was filed, the private respondents have once again assaulted the petitioner on 20.08.2022.

Despite service of notice, the private respondents are not represented.

The O. C., Diamond Harbour Police Station has already taken out proceedings under Section 107 of the Cr. P. C. This has not deterred the private respondents, who continue to assault the petitioner. The O. C., Diamond Harbour Police Station shall therefore take immediate steps to register the petitioner's complaint as an FIR and commence investigation. The petitioner shall cooperate with the investigation.

The O. C., Diamond Harbour Police Station shall also take all lawful steps to protect the petitioner against the private respondents.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
