Hasanuz Zaman ...for the petitioner Mr. Susanta Pal, Mr. Ananda Dulal Sarkar ...for the State Mr. Srijan Nayak, Ms. Rituparna Maitra ...for the WBSEDCL Mr. Chirantan Sarkar ...for the private respondents Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contends that despite the petitioner having raised an objection with regard to the electricity connection of the private respondents under Section 7 of the West Bengal Ground Water Resources (Management, Control and Regulation) Act, 2005, the respondent-authorities has not taken any steps in that regard.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondentauthorities files a written report and submits that dates of hearing were already fixed for taking up the representation by the respondent no. 4, that is, the Sub-Divisional Officer at Katwa, District-Purba

Burdwan, but due to absence of parties, the matter could not be heard.

Upon hearing learned counsel for the parties and keeping the written instruction filed by learned counsel for the State on record, W.P.A. No. 17773 of 2022 is disposed of by directing the petitioner and the private respondents to appear before the respondent no. 4, that is, the Sub-Divisional Officer at Katwa, Purba Burdwan, on the next date of hearing, that is, on August 25, 2022 at 11.00 a.m. to furnish all relevant documents to the said officer and make their submissions in support of their respective contentions. The Sub-Divisional Officer shall, thereafter, decide the issue between the parties as expeditiously as possible as per her/his convenience, preferably by the end of September, 2022, pass a reasoned order thereon and communicate the same to the parties.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
