Mr. Chirantan Sarkar, learned counsel appears for the petitioner.

Mr. Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, learned counsel with Mr. Anjan Chakraborty, learned counsel appears for the Union of India.

The principle prayer from the writ petition is quoted below:

(a) 'A writ in the nature of Mandamus and/or like nature commanding the respondent authorities/their men/agent to consider the name of the petitioner for President's Medal for Gallantry (PMG) award for his act of bravery on 26th May, 1991.'

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner refers the representation at page 32 to the writ petition and submits on the basis thereof this writ petition has been

filed. The paragraph from the representation on which the attention of this Court has been drawn is quoted below:

'I had applied for PMG reward many times but till now I have not received any information. Neither this reward has been given to me.

I am being discriminated against and harassed mentally and financially by the competent officers and being humiliated.'

The jurisdiction of this Constitutional Court exercising high-prerogative writ jurisdiction cannot be exercised for issuance of mandamus or any other writ as prayed for in the petition.

Accordingly, this writ petition WPA 17263 of 2025 stands dismissed, without any order as to costs. (Aniruddha Roy, J.)
