And In Re : Lakhan Mahato @ Laxman Mahato ..... petitioner Mr. Kazi Mokhlasur Rahman ....for the petitioner Mr. Joydeep Roy Ms. Sujata Das ...... for the State Petitioner renews his prayer for bail.
Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail and submits trial is in progress.
We have considered materials on record. Victim girl supported the prosecution case of penetrative sexual assault upon her. Her version is corroborated by medical evidence. In the light of the aforesaid incriminating evidence and as trial is in progress, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date preferably within a period of six months from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Ananya Bandyopadhyay, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
