The petitioner is a Scheduled Tribe. He wants to sell his property to a person other than a Scheduled Tribe. The petitioner has prayed for permission from the Revenue Officer, Backward Classes Welfare Department, West Bengal. The said authority is directed to dispose of the petitioner's representation in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

Parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
