The petitioner claims that Upa Pradhan of Bairhatta Gram Panchayat under Harirampur Block has committed financial irregularities during his tenure. A complaint has been made to the Directorate of Economic Offences, Government of West Bengal. Counsel for the State submits that the complaint ought to have been lodged with the Anti Corruption Branch, Government of West Bengal. The petitioner shall file the complaint afresh with the Anti Corruption Branch, Government of West Bengal, forthwith.

Upon receipt of the petitioner's complaint, appropriate steps shall be taken by the Anti Corruption Branch, Government of West Bengal to investigate into the matter in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
