C.R.M. (M) 1253 of 2025 In Re : An Application under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure/under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Barasat Police Station Case No. 251 of 2020 dated 04.06.2020 under Sections 498A/307/34 of the Indian Penal Code with added Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

Ms. Sima Biswas ... For the State The petitioner is in custody for more than five years and renews his prayer for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. Bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down on two earlier occasions considering the material on record. There is no change in circumstances which warrants a favourable order for the petitioner at this stage. This Court is informed that three more witnesses will be examined by the prosecution.

In view thereof, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. Learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

The application for bail is disposed of.
