The petitioner alleges that the Officer-in-Charge, Parnasree Police Station has failed and neglected to take steps on the basis of the complaint of the petitioner dated April 26, 2021. The petitioner submits that the police authorities did not register an FIR. Finding no other alternative, the petitioner filed a petition under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore, 24-Parganas (South). The learned Magistrate directed the police authorities to register an FIR. On the basis of the said order of the learned ACJM, Parnasree Police Station Case No.188 dated July 22, 2021 under Sections 384/468/469/471/120B of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the four accused persons. It also appears that notices have been issued to the parties for production of documents. The police report is taken on record.

Under such circumstances, nothing further remains to be decided in this writ petition. The police authorities shall complete the investigation and reach the same to its logical conclusion in a free and fair manner, preferably within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order. The investigating authority shall ensure that adequate steps are taken in order to unearth the truth.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
