This is an application for a direction upon the learned Trial Judge for expeditious disposal of Case No. N-123/2020 arising out of Basirhat Police Station Case No. 793/2020 dated 1st July, 2020 under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act now pending before the learned Special Judge-cum-Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court at Barasat. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he was arrested on 1st July, 2022. On that date a case under 21(C) of the NDPS Act was registered against him. On 5th August, 2020 Police submitted charge-sheet against the accused showing eight witnesses to be examined. On 4th August, 2021 supplementary charge-sheet was filed by the Investigating Officer. The Trial Court framed charge against

the accused on 25th November, 2021, till date only one witness has been examined out of the said eight witnesses. Under such circumstances and considering the fact that the petitioner is facing custodial trial, the learned Trial Judge is directed to examine the remaining seven witnesses within four months from the date of communication of this order.

The instant revision is, thus, disposed of.

The petitioner is at liberty to act on the server copy of the order.
