This is a writ petition of the year 2007 praying for a direction upon the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Malda to accord approval to the appointment of the petitioner as Assistant Teacher in Bengali of a High Madrasah and to release the salary from the date of upgradation of the Madrasah.

It appears from the record that an order of status quo as regards the service of the petitioner was passed on October 1, 2007, which was extended from time to time and was in force till January 30, 2008. It does not appear from the record that the interim order was subsequently extended.

It further appears that the petitioner is not interested to proceed with this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed for default.
