This is a writ petition of the year 2007 praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to give appointment to the petitioner on compassionate ground upon the death of his father who died in-harness on September 17, 1992.

It appears from the record that the matter was taken up on several occasions i.e. on August 2, 2021, August 13, 2021 and August 19, 2021 and the writ petition was adjourned though none appeared for the petitioner on those dates.

Since this is a writ petition for appointment on compassionate ground, due to passage of time, the writ petition has become infructuous and the same is accordingly disposed of.
