This petition has been filed by the husband of the alleged detenue stating that his wife has been illegally detained along with her minor daughter by the private respondents, who are none other than his in-laws. The police report clearly states that the wife of the petitioner has been talking to him over phone and video call have been made and even during Durga Puja time, she has spoken to the petitioner and her mother-inlaw and brother-in-law. Thus, we are satisfied that there is no illegal detention warranting issuance of any writ of habeas corpus.

Hence, the petition is dismissed.

However, it is always open to the petitioner to work out his other remedies available under law in the event he desires that his wife should join.
