Though learned advocate for the petitioners submits before this Court that the basis of implication of the present accused petitioners in the alleged crime is the statement of a co-accused, but, learned advocate for the State draws our attention to the seizure list dated November 10, 2023, from where it reveals that commercial quantity of contraband item was recovered as per showing of the present petitioners. Considering the involvement of the present accused petitioners in the alleged crime and also considering the recovery of huge quantity of contraband article from the possession of the present petitioners, we are not inclined to allow the prayer of the petitioners for bail, at this stage. Considering that the petitioners have been in custody for eight months, we request the learned trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible. The application for bail being CRM (NDPS) 1140 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.
