AGP Mr. Gobinda Chandra Bandopadhyay ... for the State-Respondent(s) The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that inspite of information being furnished with the police authorities in respect of the accusation of attempting to rape, no steps have been taken and the petitioner - being a victim, she has been threatened by the private respondents.

State, on the other hand, has submitted a report which reflects that Chandrakona PS Case No. 376 of 2025 dated 02.08.2025 has been registered for investigation and Notices have been served upon the victim for recording statement under Section 183 of the BNSS

and for her medical examination. The report also speaks that the petitioner was treated at Chandrakona Hospital.

Having considered the steps taken by the police authorities, I am of the opinion that at the nascent stage when the investigation has just commenced, no interference is called for by this court.

However, the police authorities would ensure that the petitioner do not feel insecure and, to that effect, if required, attention of the court may be drawn for invoking the relevant provisions of the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 17447 of 2025 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
