In the matter of : Anjan Kumar Chandra @ Subal ..... petitioner Mr. Debasis Sur Mr. Angshuman Patra .....For the petitioner Mr. Rudradipta Nandy .....For the State Apprehending arrest in connection with Khatra Police Station Case No. 12 of 2021 dated 03.04.2021 under Sections 419/420/406/468/470/471/472/120B of the Indian Penal Code, the present application has been preferred. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a school teacher and he has been falsely implicated. The allegations are absolutely unfounded and the petitioner has no nexus with the alleged offence. There is also no likelihood that the petitioner would flee from justice.

In the said conspectus, custodial interrogation is not warranted.

Mr. Nandy, learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the petitioner's prayer and draws our attention to the statements of the witnesses and several other documents in the case diary.

He further submits that huge amount of money was collected by the petitioner from the persons in the locality on a false plea that Government jobs would be provided to them.

Heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties.

Prima facie, there are strong incriminating materials against the petitioner. Considering the seriousness of the offence and the extent of complicity of the petitioner in the alleged offence, we are not inclined to exercise discretion in his favour more so when investigation has not yet been completed.

The application CRM 7649 of 2021 is, accordingly, dismissed.
