I find that on 19th June, 2025 along with the allegation/information /complaint addressed to the Officer-incharge of Bishnupur Police Station, the Superintendent of Police, Diamond Harbour Police District was also sent with information.

Learned advocate for the private respondents submits that a civil suit being TS 996 of 2021 is pending between the parties. Learned advocate also submits that there was another criminal case being Bishnupur PS Case No.

dated 15.01.2023 in which charge-sheet was submitted on 28th February, 2023.

Having considered that the incident which has been complained of is of 14th May, 2025 and the same relates to a complaint wherein allegations are in the nature of abuse, the accused being intoxicated and banging the door of the petitioners entered into a scuffle with a lady and thereafter, tore her wearing apparels - steps are wanting from the police authorities.

The police authorities have taken the plea that there is no written complaint earlier received on 14th may, 2025 and has emphasized on the civil suit of 2021 as also the criminal case of 2023, as

such I direct the Superintendent of Police, Diamond Harbour Police District to engage an Officer of his/her choice as a cognizable offence, on the face of it, is made out.

Accordingly, the Superintendent of Police, Diamond Harbour Police District will direct the concerned officer to take steps in consonance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 17527 of 2025 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
