Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have prevailed upon the police authorities to afford them protection for their lives and properties and to guarantee their peaceful residence in their houses. However, the police authorities have failed to protect and secure the lives and properties of the petitioners and their family members. Learned counsel further submits that petitioner no.2, the father of the petitioner no.1 was brutally assaulted by the private respondents but no steps have been taken by the police authority.

Learned counsel appearing for the State files a report. Let the report be kept with the record.

Learned counsel further submits that the statements of the petitioners under Section 164 of Code of Criminal Procedure could not be taken as they were not available at their residence.

Heard learned counsels for the parties.

As the police authorities are enquiring into the matter, it is directed that the police authorities shall keep a sharp vigil at the locale including the property of the petitioners and ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners and their family members. In the meantime, police authorities shall also explore all the possibility of adding stringent charges already available, after perusing the injury report of the petitioners.

The Writ Petition being WPA 18347 of 2024 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
