The University authorities have raised objection to the issuance of admit cards for sitting for the 1st Semester examinations on the ground that requisite number of classes for the semester were not undergone by the students. However, there is ample material to show that requisite number of classes were undergone. A physical verification of the records would make this amply clear.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the University submits that in such event the University is agreeable to hold physical verification at its campus in

South Calcutta tomorrow i.e., on 20.07.2024 between 10.30 to 2.30 hours.

For the balance of convenience and in the interest of justice, the students/petitioner shall be at liberty to visit the campus along with the college authorities on such date and time for physical verification of their records. In the event, the records are found satisfactory, the University shall issue provisional admit cards and/or relevant documents to them for sitting in the examinations. If documents cannot be issued online, the same shall be issued manually.

With these observations, the writ petition is thus disposed of.

Let a plain copy of this order duly counter signed by the Assistant Registrar (Court) be given to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertaking. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
